I gots to know if Albert Popwell does...so while I check this is the pick for tonight...
I first saw this one on VHS - and even smooshed into a pan and scan horror - the gritty brilliance of Don Siegel's cop drama still shone through. Taking the real life Zodiac Killer and morphing him into Scorpio (Andy Robinson) - then pitting him against world weary Harry Callahan - sheer bliss for an action junkie.
I have this one ready to spin on a correctly ratio-ed disc - and we could be counting Harry's shots any time - even tonight...if you feel lucky...well, do ya?
Until next post, you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!
Hi Craig - When you get a chance (if you haven't already) check out Don Siegel's The Lineup from 1958 with Eli Wallach as a psycho hit man who's after a misplaced shipment of heroin in San Francisco. Great stuff ! Plus with Robert Keith (who as Wallach's partner jots down the last words of his victims) and Richard Jaeckel as the alcoholic wheel man.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that one - but man I want to now! Thanks for the heads up!
Deleteoho! My fave cop Clint Eastwood cop thriller next to Magnum Force!
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer MF but seeing the Scorpio killer squeal like a girl when stabbed was just priceless! (plus I love the Zodiac reference!)
