Saturday Night at the Movies 5/31/14!

Who cares what picture we see?



Elisha Cook Jr - you just know he does. So this is the choice for this evening:












The early 70's produced some fun vampire flicks - this, the Count Yorga movies - the last couple of Hammer Draculas. Sure - the 70's trappings make it a little silly these days - as does the whole Blacula name - but past that this is an entertaining movie with some scary moments.

And you know - it did well at the theaters - so well you know they had to make another one - so let's just go right ahead on and make this a...

I've not actually seen this sequel - but the fine folks at MGM have done me a righteous and put the movie on the same DVD with the original - so we are all that much more set to watch this duo at any time - even tonight - if you don't fear "Dracula's Soul Brother" in the night and want to come by,,,

  1. I saw the original film at a grindhouse day that was a regular, once-a-month thing here years ago... was good fun with an audience. Never seen part two, though the title is one of my favorite film titles of all time!

    1. I think they are somewhat underrated as horror films - people get hung up on the 70's kitsch and miss the actual scary stuff - that woman in the first trailer leaping up off that table and running down the hall? That's the stuff of nightmares, man!
