Elisha Cook Jr - you just know he does. So this is the choice for this evening:
The early 70's produced some fun vampire flicks - this, the Count Yorga movies - the last couple of Hammer Draculas. Sure - the 70's trappings make it a little silly these days - as does the whole Blacula name - but past that this is an entertaining movie with some scary moments.
And you know - it did well at the theaters - so well you know they had to make another one - so let's just go right ahead on and make this a...

I've not actually seen this sequel - but the fine folks at MGM have done me a righteous and put the movie on the same DVD with the original - so we are all that much more set to watch this duo at any time - even tonight - if you don't fear "Dracula's Soul Brother" in the night and want to come by,,,

I saw the original film at a grindhouse day that was a regular, once-a-month thing here years ago... was good fun with an audience. Never seen part two, though the title is one of my favorite film titles of all time!

ReplyDeleteI think they are somewhat underrated as horror films - people get hung up on the 70's kitsch and miss the actual scary stuff - that woman in the first trailer leaping up off that table and running down the hall? That's the stuff of nightmares, man!
