Maniacal Movie Poster Monday #44!

Thanksgiving edition!

Planes Trains and Automobiles  (Paramount, 1988)

Yeah, it gets a little sappy, but holiday movies are kinda supposed to, you know? And either one of those two leads is worth the price of admission - but together? Fugheddaboudit!

Thanksgiving Day Mirthquakes  (Walt Disney Productions, 1953)

A package of holiday-themed Disney shorts re-released to theaters (by RKO, weirdly - ?), but in a big enough way to rate its own poster!

Thankskilling  (In Broad Daylight Films, 2009)

Yeah, we had to get weird - this is LGOOH, remember - so here's a wacky little indie with a budget in four figures and a well earned R rating. Watch at your own risk, kids!

Have a happy holiday - eat what you want and in the amounts you want! Until next post, you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!

  1. LMAO I love that last poster. Gobble, gobble mother%$&*er is awesomely weird.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a loveable John Candy flick, though my faves of his are Uncle Buck and The Great Outdoors. Got to meet John when he was filming Only the Lonely at the theater where I worked. What a great guy and I still miss him and his humor.

  2. I can't describe how much I love PLANES TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES. One of the greatest movies of all time, watching 2-3 times every year!

    oh btw:
THAAAAAAAAAAANK YOU CRAIG for nominating me, really appreciate that!!!
Made some promo for you in this blog post!

  3. MB - I know, right? And that is the "G" rated poster - the "R" rated one blurs nothing! That is amazing that you got to meet John Candy - he was an amazing talent I first discovered watching SCTV late night Fridays back in the late 70's.

Maynard - I love that movie too. And you are very welcome - as it is a well deserved nom. And thank you for the shout out! Got me a couple new followers out of it! Huzzah!

  4. I love John Candy and Steve Martin...great talents and so funny. My favorite Steve Martin flick is L.A. Story...and for John Candy I agree with Melissa (Uncle Buck and The Great Outdoors). I gotta say that Thankskilling poster is HILARIOUS!

  5. never cared about Disney, but Planes, Trains and Automobles! I love that one! XD

Of course, Thankskilling is the bomb of all Thanksgiving horror!

  6. Luana - I am fond of those guys too - for me and Martin it's The Man with Two Brains. For me and Candy it's Splash. Thankskilling certainly looks...interesting...I'm sure I'll be watching it at some point! ;)

Kaijinu - Yeah, I understand about Disney - but at least we got one of your faves in - and Thankskilling as a bonus! Thanks for coming by!
