With that in mind let's dig up what I consider the best song from each of the four Monkees. These choices may change next week - but right now these are my choices.
Davy Jones
"Daydream Believer"
Peter Tork
"Your Auntie Grizelda"
Mike Nesmith
"Some of Shelly's Blues"
Micky Dolenz
"Goin' Down"
Man I love the Monkees!
Until next post, you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!
You made my heart beat faster. I just loved these guys and could listen to their music over and over. what a fantastic group and I still watch their show, laughing all the while. It's still funny.
ReplyDeleteIt is - I have in the last couple of months added both TV seasons and the movie Head to the video vault - so we are fully prepared for a Monkees Marathon at any time!
DeleteCan I just say your banner pic is the most awesome picture ever? I LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yeah - that one jumped out at me when I was looking for something good!
DeleteI love the Monkees! I watched their show back in the 60s when I was in grade school. They were so groovy! Mike was my fave back then because I liked the laid back, quiet type. And I loved his signature cap. When I got older, I dug Micky the most. My fave Monkees tune is Last Train to Clarksville. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteWorthy choices all around! I am a Mike fan myself, though all are terrific entertainers. Last Train to Clarksville totally rocks!
DeleteI love the Godzilla pic too! The Monkees could never work as solo acts. They're awesome as a group.
ReplyDeleteThank you Maurice! The Monkees definitely work well together - amazingly so, sometimes!
DeleteI agree: Monkess were just awesome, their solo work not so much.
