Saturday Night at the Movies 12/28/13!

Who cares what picture we see?

I am completely sure that Barry Nelson would - so let's pick this:

The movie that singlehandedly set off the Disaster Movie Cycle of the 1970's - this prototype flick wraps a lot of drama and maybe even some soap opera around the disaster - but it's a corker movie - with an "All Star Cast!"

Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin are very good - especially as they're at odds instead of playing pals - and the rest of the cast is fine - but the clear standout is George Kennedy - who made such an impression as Joe Patroni he becomes the only returning character in all of the sequels!

I have this one on DVD - and it's ready for takeoff at any time - even tonight - if you felt like flying by!

Until next post, you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!
