Like the title says - That's a Wrap! Until tomorrow, you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!

  1. Interesting--and I never would have thought of this absent so many mummies stacked side by side--or up and down--but the facial features of each actor really come through. And then, so does the personality.

If you'd asked, I would have said it was all about the eyes and body language in this role. But there's a lot more to it than that. I can see Karloff and Chaney.

    Very cool!

  2. Yeah, it really comes down to the care of the makeup artist too - and some surprisingly effective visages up there considering the rather archaic methods used to achieve them!

  3. WOW!! All my fave Mummy Actors. And three of them were Kharis going after Princess Ananka. Boris, Tom and Lon all ingested the tana leaf cocktail, didn't they?

  4. Melissa - Three indeed! So cool that you know and like the finest horror movies starring a menace you could escape by walking faster. And nine tana leaves is the way to make the brew that is true...but only two played Kharis - Tyler and Chaney - Karloff was playing Imhotep who masqueraded as Ardath Bey...they kind of retconned the original story when Kharis came aboard in 1940. In fact, with his four movies to Imhotep's one, I'm surprised Stephen Sommers and company didn't find a place to stick in a Kharis in-joke somewhere along the way through three movies and two offshoots...

  5. I know! I was shocked that there weren't insider mummy jokes. That's one of my favorite things about the Howling. All the inside werewolf jokes.

  6. Good to see Bob Ivy, from Bubba Ho-tep near the top of the list...Bob was excellent as a very new and unusual tpe of mummy..Hat's Off, Bob.
