Saturday Night at the Movies 3/1/14!

Who cares what picture we see?

Susanne Reed would if she knew we were wondering - so we're going to pick this one...

After the well deserved success of Piranha in 1978, Roger Corman wanted to try to repeat that bonanza - so he sent Charles Griffith - who'd written many scripts for him - to the Phillipines to make another "Jaws homage." This one is nowhere near the quality of Piranha, but it's still a mostly amusing 85 minutes, starring one of those pesky Bottoms boys (in this case, Sam) and with the Phillipines making a pretty good fake Hawaii.

I have this one on a double feature disk with another Filipino marine monster movie - Demon of Paradise - and we could be checking out either - or even better - both - at any time - even tonight, if you care to drop by my joint!

Celebrity Endorsement: Linnea Quigley!

I actually posted this video previously in a Linnea-centric post during 2013's A-Z Challenge. But, I wouldn't want someone who is specifically checking out my celebrity endorsement posts to miss it - so it's getting the deluxe treatment for this go-round!

And of course, Linnea Quigley needs no introduction around these parts! The woman is incredible - and has made bad movies watchable, and good movies better.

Maniacal Movie Poster Monday #156!

Still trying to catch up after the computer virus took mine out for a week.

Three posters!

Saturday Night at the Movies 2/22/14!

Who cares what picture we see?

Nathan Fillion does - in brightest day, in blackest night - so we'll pick this one - it just seems right.

I've been enjoying these animated DC Universe movies - and here's the newest one to be added to the video vault.

We could be Marveling at it - pun intended - anytime - even tonight, if you care to come watch it with me!

Maniacal Movie Poster Monday #155!

My computer was down for a week with a computer virus - it's back. Sadly, my huge gallery of movie posters was corrupted by the rescue, apparently - so I'm starting back a little slowly. To get caught up we'll skip the words - three simple posters.

Saturday Night at the Movies 2/15/14!

Who cares what picture we see?

Alf Humphreys does - every day and twice on Sunday. So for this Valentine's weekend - we just have to choose this one...

I've told the story of my affection for this film before. Suffice to repeat - it's a solid slasher flick - and my DVD is the restored cut - no pun intended - which features the original more graphic gore scenes hacked out of the picture thanks to the MPAA to secure the all-important R rating.

I know right where it is - so this one could truly be spinning in the player in seconds - if you want to be MY bloody valentine and come watch it with me - tonight, even!

Maniacal Movie Poster Monday #154!

The Wrath of God  (MGM, 1972)

I haven't seen this one - but it looks like a pretty good 70's action flick with a very solid cast - including Rita Hayworth in her final film. Definitely would like to catch this sometime.

Kung Fu Zombie  (Transmedia Distribution Company, 1982)

Well, if the Romero rules are being observed, BEAT IT, OR BURN IT, OR SHOOT IT IN THE HEAD. If not - you got me - good luck with that.

Baby Needs A New Pair of Shoes  (Alert Film Releasing, 1974)

This one I've seen! It's a fair blaxploitation flick with some wild elements. It's on some budget DVD sets as Jive Turkey, which is the title I saw it under - though the above is apparently the original title.

Until next we meet - you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!
