Saturday Night at the Movies 2/25/12!

Who cares what picture we see?

If you ask me - I'd bet the farm Cory Everson does, so we're going to go with this one:

I'm not the biggest Van Damme fan in the world - but this is definitely a goodie - you got two Jean Claudes, and Geoffrey Lewis; and the bad guy trio of Alan Scarfe and his minions Bolo Yueng and the incomparable Cory Everson as Kara.

And you just gotta know that if Van Damme's X2, then so are the movies - so let's make this another

Saturday Night at the Movies Double Feature!

The only possible choice - the flick that proves two Chans are better than one!

This is a fun Jackie Chan romp, with another disparate pair of separated-at-birth twins teaming up against the bad guys. A lot of slapstick and a lot of Chan's patented crazy stunts keep this one moving from beginning to end.

Both movies reside in the video vault on DVD, ready to go back to back to back to back (if you're counting both JCVDs and both JCs) as soon as - tonight - should you care to come over, that is.

Until next post you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!

  1. I fuckin' hate Jackie Chan but I have a soft spot for Van Damme. Seen Double Impact a few years ago and enjoyed it a lot.

  2. Awesome! Double Whammy! Two actors for the price of one. I was watching a Twilight Zone episode on TV the other day. It was called Shattered Saturday and Bruce Willis played two roles. He had split into two versions of himeself. Most of the conversations were on the phone with himeself. It was pretty cool.

    1. That was an excellent 80's Zone - from a Harlan Ellison story. I do like a good split screen one-actor-as-two-characters show, for sure!

  3. Ahh Van Damme... The Muscles from Brussels. He did have some cheesy cool flicks and he could rock a mullet like no one's business. ;)

    1. There are some JCVD movies I've skipped over the years - but I'm not against checking more of them out now - I think time has sanded down his self absorbed edges and made him more likable - at least that was the sense I got watching the movie JCVD. Did you see that one?

  4. I did not and I'm going to have to watch. I heard he turned down Stallone's offer to be The Expendables, but will be in the sequel. Do you know anything about that? Question for question...LOL :)

    1. He is due to be in the sequel, from what I've heard, along with Mr. Chuck Norris. I liked the first one - quite looking forward to the second one!

  5. Never cared for Van Damme, but we love Jackie! Actually, he had a Saturday morning cartoon series for a while we watched with our kids. It was very Jackie. Goofy, fun, enjoyable.

Thanks for calling the film to my attention. This will be on our rental list!

    1. Not sure if you have any movies in your own video vault - but this one can be found in the Wal-Mart bargain bin on a triple feature DVD with two other Jackie Chan movies for about $5.
