Saturday Night at the Movies! 9/10/11

Who cares what picture we see?

Well, I'm thinking that Telly Savalas might have something to say about a date that counts up, so he might want us to pick something with a countdown..like this one...

Kind of a 70's disaster movie (the "All-Star" cast) mixed with a government conspiracy thriller, this movie has lapses in logic and some silly moments, but overall is a pretty exciting flick and one I've purchased on DVD twice now...

Well worth a watch, and with two DVD copies, there's probably always one near at hand should you want to come watch it with me...even tonight, for example.

Until next post, you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!

  1. I remember watching this. What a great movie and to think it was inspired by the idea that the moon landing was a hoax. It is also one of those old Orenthal James Simpson classics. I also liked Hyams' '81 masterpiece, Outland, with Sean Connery... "On Jupiter's moon, he's the only law."

I'm so glad to be off hiatus and running around the blogosphere again. Thanks for being such a great friend and cheerleader. :)

  2. MB! Welcome back! Yes, it is a clever idea - the whole hoax thing is pretty compelling, whichever way you believe. Outland was pretty okay too, you're right - of course, having Connery helps immensely! I'm glad you're back; the joint hasn't been the same without you!
