Saturday Night at the Movies 5/2/15!

Who cares what picture we see?

Well, after 26 posts for the April 2015 A-Z Blogging Challenge - we get back into the regular swing of things with this post - and I have to believe Benicio del Toro most certainly would care - so this will be tonight's choice...

After putting the teaser trailer in to the Z post two days ago as a birthday present to myself - I got a taste to see more from this 007 movie. I liked Timothy Dalton as James Bond - his first movie - The Living Daylights - had been written before he was picked for the role - so it had some holdover business from exiting Bond Roger Moore - comedy bits mostly cut out in editing after deciding to play to Dalton's strengths and desire to be true to Ian Fleming and more serious.

Then, for his second movie screenwriters Michael Wilson and Richard Maibaum wrote the film to play to Dalton's interpretation of the role - and I thought it was marvelous. Bond and pal Feliz Leiter interrupt their drive to Felix's wedding to catch South American drug lord Sanchez (Robert Davi) who has come to American territory to catch and punish a wayward girlfriend.

The drug lord escapes, and exacts revenge on Felix and his new bride. Now James Bond is out for vengeance - and he's going to bring Sanchez's entire empire down - even if it means resigning from her Majesty's Secret Service!

A good story, a solid villain, and fine performances all around - combined with the usual eye popping stunts and action - and it's ready to be watched in high definition from the Bond 50 Blu-Ray set anytime you want to use your Licence to Drive - and come watch it with me - even tonight!

Until next post - you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!
