As a confirmed Evil Dead fan from the get-go - I was itching to see the follow up movie from the same bunch - no matter what it was - but after it was finished it never seemed to come out. Finally a couple of years later it dribbled out onto VHS - but word on the street was the movie had been re-edited over director Sam Raimi's wishes, and the final product was not the movie he and Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell had intended.
We watched it anyway. A crazy comedy homage to the Three Stooges and slapstick movies in general - we laughed until we cried at parts of it. It wasn't a perfect movie - but there were so many golden moments we didn't know why the filmmakers disliked it so.
But dislike it they did - and after that VHS release this movie fell off the face of the Earth.
Now it's back. On Blu-Ray!
I just added the hi-def edition to the video vault - can't wait to see it again! You and I could be spinning it anytime - even tonight - if you felt like dropping by my place for a couple of hours!
