And there you go - 20 movie posters - every feature film Peter Cushing acted in up to his first film turn as Sherlock Holmes. Coincidentally, these posters take us through twenty years of his career as well - 1939-1959.
Tomorrow we'll continue our posterpalooza - continuing 1959 and then into his busiest work period - the 1960's!

Thanks for coming by - I checked back and took a look at your Caftan Woman blog - it's wonderful - I'd very much like to follow it - but there doesn't seem to be a follow gadget in there that I could find? Am I missing it, or would you consider adding one? And, while we're on the subject, if you like what you see here - please feel free to follow this blog - I don't always post about classic movies, but I do post about them! Cheers!
DeleteWow. I have always hated that poster for "The Black Knight". It looks like Patricia Medina's head and bosom are growing out of Alan Ladd's shoulder. And could the "action" shots ("Storming the castle! Tourney of the rose! Rescue of the martyrs!) be any smaller?

I really gave The Black Knight a good once over and you're exactly right - it DOES look like Ladd's grown a second evil head and bosom.

Oh. My. God. I have actually seen most of these. Thanks to AMC, WGBO here in Chicago and on late night WGN. Man, do I miss those days. Now its all craptacular reruns of CSI and Law and Order.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Late Show and the Late Late Show are two more casualties of our youth that I sorely miss. It was a different time when to see certain movies you either got up at 4am or stayed up until dawn to watch the broadcast live. I hate to sound all fuddy duddy - but I do miss that.
DeleteTCM is my go-to for that sort of stuff. Some of the best, most obscure movies they show are in the 2 a.m. - 6 a.m. time period.
DeleteTCM is the last bastion of late night crazy movie fun these days. TNT network was actually REALLY cool in the 90's with the "100% Weird" shows they had on in the wee hours. They showed some batcrap crazy stuff over there!
